Jeff Burton

Jeffery Brian Burton born on June 29th, 1967 in South Boston, Virginia is a well-known NASCAR Nextel Cup Series driver. He drives the #31 Cingular Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing. Jeff Burton popularly known as 'JB' also races part-time in the Busch Series.

Burton made his driving debut in the Busch Series in 1988 and took part in a few races driving car #69 owned by his father John Burton. The following year Jeff competed in the full season for Busch Series Rookie of the Year driving the Burton Autosports Pontiac #12. Burton made his Winston Cup debut during the year 1999. During his rookie year he drove the #8 Raybestos Ford for the Stavola Brothers team.

Jeff got his first career win in 1997, finishing first in the Interstate Batteries 500 at Texas Motor Speedway - the inaugural NASCAR race at Texas Motor Speedway. Jeff Burton had his best points finish in the year 2000, when he finished 3rd - 294 points behind champion Bobby Labonte.

From 1997 to 2000, Burton amazingly won an event at NHIS every year. Jeff also won the Samsung 500 (Texas) on April 15th, 2007, driving the Prilosec OTC Chevrolet, passing Matt Kenseth on the final lap. He thus became the first driver with multiple wins at Texas Motor Speedway.

Jeff Burton’s younger brother Ward Burton also drives in the NASCAR’s Nextel cup.
